Which format fits the destination?
PNG supports transparency and lossless output; JPEG suits photos when transparency is not needed. WebP is another option when the receiving app accepts it. SVG contains vector instructions; converting it to PNG creates pixels at the chosen dimensions. Check each converter's supported inputs and outputs rather than assuming every format is interchangeable.
What stays on my device?
Photos and scanned documents are processed locally. Some tools load an engine or model from this site on first use. The CSP permits connections only to this site (connect-src 'self'); that resource loading is separate from processing your images. Large images and batches can need substantial memory, so use the limits shown by the selected tool.
