Add document photos or take a photo on your phone, check the four page corners, and choose a scan filter. Arrange up to 20 pages, then prepare a PDF with A4, Letter, or image-sized pages, or download JPEG images. Multiple JPEGs come in a ZIP file. Photos stay on your device, with no account and no watermark.

How Do You Turn a Photo into a Document Scan?
Add your photographs, align the four page corners, choose a filter, and prepare a PDF or JPEG download. Document Scanner converts a photograph of a flat sheet into a rectangular page image using perspective correction. It suits printed forms, receipts, notes, and other paper records that need cleaner framing before storage or sharing. You can adjust one page at a time while keeping the remaining pages in the same document. There is no watermark and no account requirement.
The tool accepts JPEG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC files. Each image must be no larger than 30 MB, and a document can contain up to 20 pages. The Take photo control asks the phone's normal file capture interface for an image; it does not open a continuous camera stream. Devices may show a camera, a file picker, or a choice between them. Existing photographs work through the same editing steps, including images taken before you opened this page.
How Can You Take a Clearer Document Photo?
Place the page flat and use even light across the whole sheet. A dark background makes pale paper boundaries easier to distinguish, especially when automatic detection needs to separate a page from its surroundings. Fill the frame while leaving all four corners visible. Hold the camera steady and keep it as parallel to the paper as possible. Perspective correction can straighten a tilted rectangle, but a closer, sharper starting photo preserves more useful text detail than a distant photograph with a small page in its center.
Avoid reflections on glossy paper and strong shadows from your hand or phone. Move the light source rather than trying to fix glare with a filter. If a receipt is curled, gently flatten it before photographing. Focus on the smallest text you need to read and inspect it in the original photo. A file that meets the size limit can still contain blurred letters. Increasing contrast changes visible tones; it does not recreate missing strokes or restore text hidden by a bright reflection.
How Do Corner Adjustments and Filters Work?
Automatic detection supplies four initial handles. If it cannot find suitable page edges, the tool asks you to drag the corners yourself. Position each handle on the corresponding paper corner, keeping the outline around the document. Reset to full image includes the entire photograph, while Auto detect tries the boundary search again. Rotate 90° changes the source orientation and detects corners again. Keyboard users can Tab to each labeled corner, move it one original-image pixel with an arrow key, or hold Shift for ten-pixel steps.
Enhance, the default filter, normalizes the background locally and increases contrast. Color balances the color channels and stretches contrast while retaining color. Grayscale converts the image to tonal values and adjusts their contrast. Black & white uses a local threshold to produce two-tone pixels. Try several modes when the page includes stamps, photographs, pencil marks, or faded printing. A two-tone scan can make clean type distinct while losing faint marks that matter. Each page keeps its own filter, so a colored form and a receipt need not use the same treatment.
The live result uses a downscaled copy to keep editing practical. Export processes the original source, with the engine limiting the resulting scan's longest side to 3,508 pixels. Fine detail and thresholded edges can therefore differ from the small preview. Inspect the saved output before relying on small numbers, signatures, or other critical details. Photos with curved book pages, folded paper, or strong glare remain limited: a four-corner transformation straightens perspective but does not flatten a curved surface or unfold a crease.
How Do You Arrange and Save Multiple Pages?
The pages area displays processed thumbnails. Select a thumbnail to re-edit its page, use the left and right buttons to change document order, or delete an unwanted image. These controls work with a keyboard and do not require dragging a thumbnail. Check the sequence before preparing your download, particularly when photographing double-sided documents. Choosing new images adds pages to the current document until the page limit is reached. Keep your source photos if you may want to rebuild the document later.
PDF is the default export. A4 and Letter place each scan within the chosen paper size without stretching it to fill the page; Fit to image follows the scan dimensions. All PDF page images use JPEG quality 0.85. JPEG images exports one scan directly, or packages multiple scans in a ZIP file with numbered filenames. Set a useful filename before preparing the download. On platforms supporting PDF file sharing, the Share control sends the prepared file to the operating system's chosen destination.
For an existing set of images that needs only packaging, use Images to PDF. To recover editable English writing from a scan, open Image to Text; this scanner creates image-based PDFs rather than searchable text. Image Cropper handles ordinary rectangular crops, and Merge PDF combines a downloaded scan with other PDF documents.
Where Do Your Photos Go During Processing?
Photos never leave your device for scanning. Browser workers decode and process images locally, and exports are built in browser memory. The page does not save a document to an account or provide recovery after reload. Download your result before closing the tab. Image resources are released as pages are removed or replaced, and active workers are cancelled when the tool unmounts. Large photographs still require memory while decoding, so a smaller batch can help on a phone with limited available memory.
How to Use Document Scanner
-
Add your document photos
Choose JPEG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC images, or select Take photo on your phone. Add up to 20 pages, each no larger than 30 MB.
-
Check the page edges
Drag the four corner handles to the page boundaries. Use Auto detect, Reset to full image, or Rotate 90° as needed. Arrow keys move focused corners; Shift makes larger steps.
-
Choose a scan filter
Compare Color, Grayscale, Black & white, and Enhance using the live preview. Each page keeps its own corner and filter settings.
-
Arrange the document
Use the page thumbnails to re-edit a scan, move it left or right, or delete an unwanted page.
-
Prepare and download
Choose PDF or JPEG images, set the PDF page size and filename, and select Prepare download. Download the result or share the prepared PDF on supported devices.
