How do you generate 200 words of lorem ipsum?

Click 200 Words under Quick Presets to select Words mode and set Amount to 200. Choose Classic Latin under Theme, keep Test-text preset on None — use selected theme, and choose Plain Text under Output. The result contains exactly 200 whitespace-separated words in one block. Click Copy All to copy the complete text, or Download to save a text file.

The shortcut changes the mode and amount only. It preserves your theme, text case, output format, and test preset, so check those settings if the result looks different from classic filler. For other lengths, select Words and enter the number yourself. You do not need to generate a long paragraph and manually delete words to reach the target.

Words mode removes commas and periods from the opening and takes its first eight words: lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur adipiscing elit. Those words count toward the target. A request shorter than eight words uses only the required beginning; five words gives lorem ipsum dolor sit amet. With Sentence case selected, this mode retains its lowercase output rather than adding sentence punctuation.

Which output mode should you choose?

Choose the unit that matches the space you are testing. Words gives an exact word target, while Paragraphs builds prose with varying sentence lengths. Entering 200 does not mean 200 words in every mode: Amount always refers to the active mode. The number input keeps entries within that mode's limits.

For themed filler, Paragraphs uses four to eight sentences per paragraph. Random sentences contain eight to fifteen words; the enabled classic opening replaces the first sentence and is longer. Consequently, three paragraphs do not guarantee a particular word count. List Items uses three to eight words per item before numbering. Use Words for a strict copy-length requirement and Paragraphs for checking spacing between prose blocks.

How do the classic opening and Regenerate work?

Start with "Lorem ipsum..." applies when Theme is Classic Latin. In Paragraphs and Sentences, it inserts the full opening sentence, ending with magna aliqua.. In Words, it uses the shorter eight-word prefix described above. List Items generates its own short entries and does not insert that opening.

Regenerate advances the random seed by one and recalculates the themed text with the same settings. When the opening is enabled, its fixed words remain while the random portion changes. A very short Words request consisting entirely of the fixed opening therefore stays the same. Test-text presets use fixed samples rather than the random seed, so Regenerate does not vary those samples.

Should you copy plain text or download HTML?

Plain Text is the direct choice for pasting filler into an editor or checking an exact word total. The <p> Tags option wraps text blocks in paragraph tags. In Paragraphs mode, Rich HTML can introduce headings, blockquotes, or preformatted blocks among longer outputs. Both HTML options produce an unordered list with list-item tags when List Items is selected.

The preview displays HTML as code, and Copy All copies that markup. Download saves lorem-ipsum.txt for Plain Text or lorem-ipsum.html for either HTML option; HTML downloads include a document wrapper. The generator runs in the page using local word lists and samples. Generation and download do not require sending the generated text to a service.

Statistics are calculated from the final output string, including HTML markup or list numbering. Size measures UTF-8 bytes, while Chars measures the JavaScript string length. Choose Plain Text and Sentence case for a byte-target check: HTML adds markup afterward, and case transformations can alter text size. Bytes mode may cut through a word to fit the requested size; it is not a word-count substitute.

How can you test layouts beyond Latin filler?

Test-text preset provides four fixed samples: Right-to-left (Arabic/Hebrew), CJK, Long words / URLs, and Mixed scripts + emoji. These override the theme and classic opening. The RTL sample changes the preview direction, while the long-word sample supplies an unbroken word and a long sample URL for checking wrapping. They test specific layout conditions without pretending to translate the Latin filler.

CJK Words output repeats whitespace-separated chunks from its sample, so its Words statistic is not a linguistic segmentation count. Use the samples to inspect wrapping, direction, and mixed-script spacing, then replace them with your intended content before completing the layout.
