Adding watermark to PDF?
PDF Watermark

Runs locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or sent to a server.

Choose images, select Text or Image, configure your watermark, and click Apply Watermark to get PNG and JPG downloads. For a logo, use Choose logo file and adjust Size, Opacity, and Rotation. Place a single mark with the nine-position grid or repeat it with Tile (repeat). Processing happens on your device. Select up to 100 source images to apply the same settings and download a ZIP instead; each source file must be within the 100 MB limit.

How do you add a logo or text watermark to an image?

Choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP source image, then select Image and Choose logo file to add a logo, or select Text to enter a name or notice. Adjust the watermark, click Apply Watermark, and choose Download PNG or Download JPG. The downloaded canvas keeps the source image's dimensions.

A transparent PNG logo lets the photo show through around the logo shape. A JPG logo brings its rectangular background with it: lowering Opacity fades that background along with the logo rather than removing it. SVG logos are rejected by the upload handler, even though the chooser currently mentions SVG. Export an SVG logo to PNG before using it here.

For a concrete size example, take a 2400 × 1600 photo and a 600 × 300 logo. At Size 20%, the renderer uses the shorter photo side: round(1600 × 0.20) = 320 pixels wide. It keeps the logo's proportions, giving round(320 × 300 ÷ 600) = 160 pixels high. Rotation changes its orientation, not those pre-rotation dimensions. This calculation uses the shorter side despite the current Size tooltip referring to image width.

Why add a visible watermark to a photo?

A visible watermark puts attribution directly into the shared pixels. A name, handle, logo, or review notice stays part of that exported image without relying on a separate caption. Use a short identifier when the picture remains the focus, or a repeated notice when you want the review status to appear across the frame.

This tool composites a visible overlay; it does not create an invisible tracking mark or verify ownership. Keep a separate clean original for later editing or delivery. A visible mark does not guarantee that someone cannot crop or edit it away, so choose the export you are comfortable sharing rather than treating watermarking as access control.

How does the canvas render and scale the watermark?

The browser draws the source image onto a Canvas 2D surface at its natural width and height. Text uses fillText(); Outline adds strokeText(), while Shadow sets blur and shadow offsets. Logo mode uses drawImage(). Both modes apply the chosen opacity with globalAlpha and rotate each stamp around its anchor before restoring the drawing transform.

Font size is a relative control rather than a promise of that exact number of output pixels. Rendered font size equals round(selected size × max(shorter image side ÷ 800, 0.5)). A selected 48px therefore renders at 96px on an image with a 1600px shorter side. For a 200px shorter side, the minimum factor produces 24px. Logo sizing follows its separate percentage formula described above.

How do placement, opacity, and tiling work?

Single mode offers nine anchors, including Center and Bottom Right. Edge placement starts with a margin equal to 5% of the shorter image side before offsets are added. Drag the preview to move a single mark, or focus it and use arrow keys for one image pixel per press, or ten with Shift. The sidebar nudge buttons instead move by 1% of the corresponding image dimension. Selecting another anchor resets the offset.

Tile (repeat) replaces single placement with repeated stamps. Sparse, Normal, and Dense change the spacing; Dense packs marks closer together. Preview dragging is disabled during tiling. Text and logo modes both support the pattern, but their spacing calculations differ because text is measured by its rendered width and logos by their scaled dimensions.

Opacity runs from 0% to 100% in five-percentage-point steps. The initial text setting is 30% with a −30° rotation; the initial logo setting is 60% with no rotation. These are starting values, not a guarantee of readability. Compare the mark over both light and dark parts of the photo. Logo color offers Original, White, and Black; recoloring preserves existing transparency rather than extracting a background.

What watermark presets are available?

Presets provides five text configurations. Apply one before making individual adjustments: selecting it replaces text settings, placement, tiling, and offsets. The actual preset settings are:

Built-in text watermark presets
PresetPlacementOpacityRotation and effect
DRAFTSingle, centered35%−30°, None
CONFIDENTIALDense tiles30%−45°, None
SAMPLESingle, centered30%−30°, None
DO NOT COPYDense tiles35%−45°, Outline
© PortfolioSingle, bottom right25%0°, Shadow

© Portfolio inserts “© Your Name”; replace it with your own attribution. Font offers Arial, Impact, Georgia, Courier New, Verdana, and Trebuchet MS, with Regular and Bold weight options. The renderer uses browser font fallback if the selected family is unavailable, so inspect the preview before exporting.

How do you watermark many photos at once?

Select several source images together, up to 100 files, each within 100 MB (100 × 1024 × 1024 bytes). Only the first image is previewed. Download all (ZIP) renders each source sequentially with the current settings and builds a local archive. Percentage offsets and sizing are recalculated for each image, so the pixel dimensions of a mark can differ across the batch.

PNG, JPG, and WebP inputs are exported in their respective formats. Archive entries use names such as photo-watermarked.jpg. A read or export failure is recorded and skipped while the remaining files continue. A mixed portrait and landscape batch still deserves a visual check afterward because the same relative placement can cover different subjects.

Which download format should you choose?

For a single image, Apply Watermark generates PNG and JPG results. PNG uses lossless encoding and supports transparent pixels. JPG uses the browser encoder with quality 0.92 and does not support transparency. This parameter is not a percentage of original image quality or a guarantee of file size. Both exports include the rendered watermark at the original canvas dimensions.

The tool does not resize that canvas during watermarking. Use Image Resizer if you need different dimensions, or Image Compressor to work on file size. Keep the clean source separately; exporting a watermark changes the shared pixels rather than adding an editable layer to the downloaded file.

Can you reuse a watermark without uploading it elsewhere?

Save as my preset writes settings and, when eligible, the logo's encoded data URL to local storage in this browser. The logo data URL must not exceed 1,000,000 characters to be retained; that is an encoded-string limit, not a one-megabyte source-file limit. Load my preset restores supported saved fields, and Clear saved data removes the saved entry. Storage restrictions can prevent saving.

Local file loading, canvas rendering, and ZIP creation happen on your device. Saving a preset is optional and does not save the source photos. Do not assume it is an exact project snapshot: the current preset loader restores a subset of settings, so check font, weight, effects, and density after loading rather than relying on those choices to persist.

How can you include copyright symbols and other text?

Type or paste text directly into Watermark text, including ©, ®, ™, or an @handle. The field passes the entered string to the canvas text renderer. Character appearance depends on the available fonts and their fallback glyphs; a symbol in the input is not a separate graphic or metadata field. Use the preview to check the rendered result, particularly for scripts or symbols outside your selected font.

How to Use Image Watermark

  1. Choose images or drag & drop

Select PNG, JPG, or WebP images. Choose one image for individual downloads or up to 100 for a batch; each file must be no larger than 100 MB.

  2. Text or Image

In Text, enter Watermark text or select Presets. In Image, click Choose logo file and load a PNG, JPG, or WebP logo. Adjust Size, Opacity, and Rotation for a logo.

  3. Single or Tile (repeat)

Use Single with the nine-position grid, preview dragging, or nudge arrows. Select Tile (repeat) to repeat the watermark and choose Sparse, Normal, or Dense.

  4. Apply Watermark

For one image, click Apply Watermark, then Download PNG or Download JPG. For several images, use Download all (ZIP), whose label also shows the selected image count.
